Lake Contance double centre based tour

Check in at a well-kept 3*** hotel in Constance. Take the opportunity to visit the island of Mainau, stroll through the beautiful old town or visit the aquariums of the Sea Life Centre and the Archaeological State Museum.

The ferry takes you from Constance to Meersburg. You cycle through vineyards to the Zeppelin city of Friedrichshafen. A visit to the Zeppelin Museum is well worthwhile. Your cycle tour continues through extensive orchards to Kressbronn, your next overnight destination.

Make yourself comfortable, there are many possibilities: whether wellness in the hotel, relaxation on the beach in the immediate vicinity, swimming in the lake or exploring the beautiful town centre. In the evening, an experienced skipper will take you on a two-hour sailing trip on the lake, where you can enjoy a delicious three-course menu

The first stop is the Bavarian town of Lindau, where you should not miss the old town, situated on a peninsula. The harbour, guarded by a 6 m tall lion, invites you to linger. Now it is only a few kilometres to Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg in Austria, famous for its annual festival on the largest lake stage in the world. It is also worth taking the Pfänderbahn railway up Bregenz's local mountain, from where you have a fantastic view over the lake.

You cycle leisurely along the lake back to Friedrichshafen, where the car ferry takes you to Romanshorn on the other side of the lake. You cycle mostly directly along the lake back to Constance, passing several bathing spots where you can refresh yourself in the cool water.

From Constance, cycle along the shore past the flower island of Mainau to Wallhausen. There you board a boat and are taken comfortably to Überlingen on the other side of the lake. The beautiful Überlingen lakeside promenade invites you to linger. In the pile-dwelling museum in Unteruhldingen, you can find out about our ancestors who lived on Lake Constance in the Stone Age. From Meersburg, take the car ferry back to Constance.

The first highlight is the island of Reichenau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous for the vegetables grown there. You cross over to the Höri peninsula by boat. The journey continues along the High Rhine to the medieval town of Stein am Rhein with its frescoed houses.
