Boat and bike Berlin-Stralsund

By bike & boat along river Oder to Baltic Sea.

From metropolis city Berlin with extended forests in the North you cycle first along Oder-Havel canal via Orianenburg and Eberswalde to Schwedt. The silent and unique beautifulness of Oder landscape is accompanying you into Polish Stettin with precious palace. Your route leads you along unique coast via Usedom to the biggest island in Germany, to Rügen with famous cliffs. Your aim is the old city of Stralsund.

Itinerary

Embarkation until 4 p.m. Berlin is worth it. Maybe you have time for a stroll over Kurfürstendamm, through Nicolai quarter at Spree Island or through Brandenburger Tor. Berlin offers many possibilities.

The bike path leads towards North to Oranienburg. Well-worth seeing is the baroque palace with park, the museum and the Orangery. You go on board again. Cruise to Eberswalde. In the heart of the city, in Finow canal, the oldest lock in Germany is located. It is a technical memorial since 1978.

First along Treidel bike path at Finow canal through beautiful landscape, small forests and hills towards Niederfinow and on to Oderberg. You go on board again. Cruise to Schwedt.

You cross river Oder and cycle in Poland today. You cycle along side roads, country roads, forest tracks and dreamy small villages to Gryfino. Afterwards cruise to Stettin, the green big town at Oder estuary. There is one of the biggest harbors at Baltic Sea. Well-worth seeing is the reconstructed palace which is located in the old city.

Today you spend the whole day on board. After the last narrow passage you reach Stettiner Haff. After crossing that you reach Wolgast, the entrée to island Usedom. Well-worth seeing is the medieval old city with town hall and church.

Today you cycle via Zecherin and Karlshagen-Hafen to Peenemünde (Tip: historic technical museum). In Peenemünde you go on board again. Cruise to Lauterbach which is in the southeast of island Rügen. You should visit city Putbus (approx. 2 km) with its well-known circus. Neo-classical buildings are seaming the round square, where all roads meet each other.

Today your tour leads you via Putbus, Garz, Schoritzer Wiek, Poseritz, Gustow with famous church and Rügendamm to Stralsund, where you meet your boat again. This city has a great past. You will see extraordinary places of interest during your stroll through the old city, which is located on a small island.

After breakfast: Disembarkation and end of your journey.

Tarmac cycle paths, car-free and low-traffic routes as well as sandy field and forest paths. Shorter sections also along main roads. Suitable for leisure cyclists, as the routes are mostly flat. However, some steeper climbs and descents must be mastered.

Extras

Bikes

  • Rental bikes on board: Smooth-running 7-speed unisex touring bikes from Velo de Ville (custom-made for SE-Tours) with handbrake, coaster brake or freewheel (subject to availability) and pannier bags. Also applies to the electric bikes with 500 Wh Bosch battery (early booking required as the number is limited).
  • Bringing your own bike: Due to the limited space available on the sun deck, it is only possible to bring your own bike on request and only to a limited extent.

Parking

  • Berlin-Spandau railway station, continue by underground and S-Bahn to Berlin-Tegel, approx. 1 km from the pier.
  • Car park "Hallen am Borsigturm", approx. € 10 per day, no reservation possible.
  • Return transfer by train to the port of embarkation, approx. € 45 per person.

  • Cycle tours: Individual and unguided. They cover between 17 and 46 kilometres. All kilometres are approximate distances of the recommended cycle tours
    Cycle routes/degree of difficulty: You cycle mostly on car-free paths, low-traffic agricultural roads and tarmac cycle paths along the flood dam without any significant gradients This means that this tour is also suitable for inexperienced cyclists
    Excursion programme: if the cycling stages and layover times allow, an excursion programme is put together which can only be booked on board and is payable in cash. Depending on the composition of participants, the excursions may be offered bilingually in German and English.
  • Holiday luggage: We recommend good rainwear, cycle helmet, sun hat and sports shoes. For reasons of space, we would ask you to refrain from taking luggage with a hard shell, as the storage space in the cabin is very limited!
  • Timetable and programme subject to change: Subject to change without notice. If, for example, a route cannot be travelled due to low water, high water or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a reason for cancellation free of charge).
  • Travel documents: EU nationals (with no special circumstances (e.g. dual citizenship, primary residence abroad or provisionally issued travel documents)) require a valid identity card or passport for this trip, which must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. If you have another nationality or several nationalities or if you have to observe special legal regulations, please contact your local consulate for information on the relevant visa and entry requirements.
  • This tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
