Itinerary

Enjoy a stroll through the very well maintained old town of Constance with council house, the Munster, and the maze of little alleyways of Niederburg. Not to forget the Mediterranean harbour with famous “Imperia”. Overnight stay is in Constance.

Today you cycle to Friedrichshafen and follow the cycle path to Langenargen and trough small villages like Wasserburg and Nonnenhorn to Lindau, the Bavarian “Metropolis on the lake”. The historical old town on an island is a popular attraction. In the afternoon you will return by boat back to Constance.

Today you will have the whole day for your visit to Mainau Island.

Today you will first travel to Überlingen on the other side of Lake Constance by boat. The Lake Constance Cycle Path will take you to the pilgrimage church Birnau. From here, follow the Prälaten path to Salem. The castle of the former monastic order is an impressive example of southern German Baroque architecture. From the medieval town of Meersburg, which is home to an old and a new castle, the ferry will take you back to Constance.

Your first destination of the day is Reichenau Island, which is part of UNESCO world cultural heritage since 2001. By boat to Gaienhofen, where you can visit the Hermann-Hesse-house. Afterwards you cycle along peninsula Höri and via Hemmenhofen to Stein am Rhein. Your return journey leads you along Steckborn and Gottlieben to Constance.

After breakfast, individual return journey or start of your extension.
