Itinerary

Individual Arrival to Dresden. Welcome briefing and distribution of rental bikes. Afterwards use the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful old town Dresden. Explore the world famous beauties and the magic of the city with the unique sights like "Zwinger Palace", "Frauenkirche" (Church of Ladys), Dresden Castle and the famous opera house (Semperoper).

Today's cycle tour takes you through the romantic Elbe Valley along the Saxon vineyards past the town of Radebeul, which is closely associated with the name Karl May. You soon reach the town of Meissen, world-famous for its porcelain. The picturesque alleyways of the historic town centre are ideal for strolling and shopping. Albrechtsburg Castle and the world-famous Meissen porcelain factory are also well worth a visit.
On the banks of the Elbe, the route continues along the Saxon Wine Route. Sample the regional wines! For those who prefer culture, the baroque Diesbar-Seußlitz Castle with its beautiful park offers the right ambience. Today's overnight stay is in the sports town of Riesa.

Your journey takes you to Torgau. Here you will find Hartenfels Castle, which is the most important surviving early Renaissance castle in Germany. Around 163 steps lead up to the Hausmannsturm tower, which offers a magnificent view of the town. There are over 500 individual monuments in Torgau's old town, preserving the splendour of the former Electoral Saxon royal seat

The castles of Lichtenberg and Pretzsch mark your journey along the Elbe cycle path towards Wittenberg. Once you arrive in the town where Martin Luther posted his theses, you have a good opportunity to go in search of traces today on your cycle tour through the Elbe river regions. The Luther House is home to the largest collection of Reformation history in the world. The old town centre of Wittenberg has also been lovingly restored. Wittenberg's castle church, the town church, the Luther House and the Melanchthon House are UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Wittenberg. The pretty shops and pubs make an evening stroll a pleasure.

Easy - the daily stages are between 25 and 65 kilometres on flat to slightly hilly terrain. The Elbe Cycle Path offers the opportunity to follow one of the most beautiful and important rivers in Germany without using a car. Other sections of the route take you along smaller country roads and paths with little traffic through the varied river landscape.

Return transfer

By train to Dresden (approx. 3-4 hours). Return transfer by minibus every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, costs € 85 per person from Wittenberg. For the return transport of your own bike we charge € 39,- extra. Booking required, payable in advance with the invoice.
