Tour briefing and distribution of the rental bikes (if booked) in the evening in Prague.

In the "Golden City" there are a lot of sights to admire. Come and see the Hradschin with the royal palace, take a stroll over the famous Charles Bridge or enjoy the night life of Prague. Additonal overnight stay in Prague.

The cycle tour leads along the river Vltava. Enjoy a stunning view from the rock of castle in Melnik on to the junction of the rivers Vltava and Elbe. Melnik is the city centre of the bohemian wine region.

You cycle past Roudnice the city of the fortress Terezin. Only a few kilometres further along the way you’ll reach the destination of todays trip - Litomerice with beautiful domestic architecture.

After about 20 km you will reach the town of Usti nad Labem (Aussig). On the way you can admire the Schreckenstein castle ruins on the right bank on a 100 m high rock. In the afternoon you will reach Decin (Czech Republic).

You cross the border into Germany and soon catch sight of the picturesque cliffs of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The course of the Elbe takes you past Königsstein Fortress. Visit the largest fortress and enjoy the enchanting view of the Elbe valley. Overnight stay in Pirna.

You cycle past Pillnitz Palace to Dresden. You pass the "Blue Miracle" and the castles along the Elbe. The short route gives you time to visit Dresden's impressive old town.

Individual return journey or start of your extension in Dresden.

Easy to moderately difficult. From Prague to Melnik there are a few climbs to overcome, otherwise a predominantly easy route on the Elbe cycle path. Some paths are partly unpaved.

Arrival / parking / departure

In Prague parking fee approx. € 16,- per day in underground car park. We recommend travelling to Dresden (parking fee approx. € 200 per week in the hotel car park) and continuing with our transfer by minibus or by train to Prague.
Good train connections to Prague and from Dresden.
We recommend travelling to Dresden and then taking our transfer by minibus or travelling to Prague by train on your own. Price for train journey approx. € 35,- per person one way.
Transfer to Prague by minibus incl. bikes possible. Limited space available, price € 85,- per person, for the return transport of your own bike we charge € 39,- extra. Reservation required when booking the tour, payable in advance.

Hotels

You will stay in hotels in the 3- and 4-star category (Czech classification). All rooms have a shower/WC or bath/WC.
