Individual journey to Nantes. The city has sights such as the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany and the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul.

On the first cycle stage, you will soon reach the Loire estuary with its tranquil yet wild landscapes. During the cycle tour, you will cycle through marshes and rural areas before being greeted by the fresh sea breeze in Saint Brévin les Pins. Enjoy the beautiful beaches on the Atlantic and end the day in peace.

Discover the ‘oyster capital’ of the Vendée region. The former island is now protected by dykes and polders, which is unique in France. Watch the workers in the salty marshes and don't forget to sample some oysters in Port du Bec while enjoying the view of Noirmoutier Island.

Today, follow the cycle paths through the dunes and forests and marvel at the 20th century villas along the way. After a short detour to the island of Noirmoutier, a beautiful beach with fine white sand awaits you in Saint-Jean-de-Monts.

Between Sion and St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, you will cycle along picturesque cliffs such as the ‘Cinq-Pinteaux’ or the ‘Trou du Diable’. Discover the old fishing harbour of St-Hilaire-de-Riez before reaching the village of Les Sables d'Olonne, the start of the famous Vendée Globe race, the toughest single-handed regatta in the world. Here you can enjoy delicious seafood, such as the famous ‘sablaise’ sardine.

On the first part of the stage, you cycle close to the sea and soon reach the Payré estuary with its surprising and contrasting colours. Leave your bike behind and treat yourself to a swim on one of the beautiful beaches, such as Conche beach, before reaching La-Tranche-sur-Mer, a famous beach resort.

Cycle leisurely through the dry part of the ‘Marais Poitevin’ and follow the ‘Voie Vertes’ cycle path to Marans. Take a look at the church and the surprising bell tower, which is made of glass and metal. Continue to La Rochelle with its old towers, remnants of the old defence walls. You will enjoy the charm of the old town with its warm lights.

After breakfast, individual return journey or start of your extension.

You cycle on small and low-traffic farm tracks and side roads. Some short connecting sections are also on ‘busier’ roads. The daily stages lead through mostly flat to slightly hilly terrain. A cycle tour that guarantees a varied holiday with a normal level of fitness.
